Walmart’s new Onn 4K Streaming Stick is starting to show up early in stores, but online availability still appears limited for most shoppers.

Walmart appears to be quietly rolling out its first Onn 4K Streaming Stick. Early reports say it sells for about $30 and includes 4K output, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a quad-core processor, and Google TV in a compact stick design.
A Reddit user spotted this new Onn 4K streaming stick on the shelves at a Walmart store in Texas.

For TROYPOINT readers, the main takeaway is simple: this could be one of the most appealing budget Google TV devices if Walmart keeps the price in that $20-40 range.
It also arrives at a good time for shoppers who still want a cheaper alternative to the Google TV Streamer after Chromecast hardware faded from the picture.
The catch is availability. Right now, this looks more like an early shelf sighting than a full launch. Some units are appearing in stores, but broad online ordering still does not look ready, so most buyers may need to wait.
There is already an Onn stick listed on Walmart’s site, and that is where some confusion starts.
The product page and screenshot attached here show the older Full HD model with 1080p output, 1.5GB of RAM, and a lower price. That device is not the same as this new Onn 4K Stick.

The new version bumps things up with 4K support and more memory, which makes it a different product aimed at buyers who want better picture quality without paying much more.
It also lines up with our earlier coverage on the new Walmart Onn 4K Streaming Stick leak, while Walmart is still expected to follow with an all-new Onn 4K Pro V2. If demand builds, don’t be surprised if these units sell out quickly.
Walmart may have another winner here for buyers who want a cheap 4K Google TV device. Still, this looks like a soft launch, so shoppers should not assume it is widely available just because one unit showed up in a Texas store.
If Walmart keeps the price near $30, this could land in a very strong spot and become a strong alternative to Amazon Fire TV Sticks.
We will keep this article updated when we hear more about the availability of Walmart’s new Onn devices.
