Two brand-new Onn streaming devices from Walmart have passed through FCC approval, signaling next-generation hardware could hit shelves soon.

Current Onn streaming boxes are selling out online across the United States as former Fire TV owners search for alternatives. Android TV Guide first spotted these submissions on Reddit.
The first device appears to be a second-generation Onn 4K Pro carrying model number JS620K4 with 32 GB of storage and 3 GB of RAM.

WiFi 6 support returns from the original model, but a key upgrade is the addition of a Thread radio. This same smart home technology exists in the Google TV Streamer for local control of Matter-compatible devices.
Android TV Guide believes the box will run on an Amlogic S905X5M processor, the same chip found in the Onn 4K Plus. Power still comes through a barrel AC adapter rather than USB-C.
The second device looks like a refreshed streaming stick based on its silhouette in the filing. Model number WS137K4 lists 8 GB of storage, 1 GB of RAM, and WiFi 5.

Given those modest specs and Walmart already selling three 4K models, this appears to be a third-generation Onn HD Stick.
Walmart has a history of releasing new Onn products during April and May without advance announcements. That window lines up perfectly with current inventory shortages.
As we reported recently, a ton of Onn 4K devices are sold out online. Heavy discounts on the original 4K Pro before it disappeared followed a pattern Walmart uses when clearing stock ahead of refreshes.
Amazon’s crackdown on third-party apps across Fire TV devices is also driving demand. The Fire TV Stick 4K Select runs Vega OS, which prevents side-loading entirely.
Frustrated owners have been jumping to Google TV/Android TV devices, and Onn boxes remain the most affordable option.
We also compared the terms ‘Firestick’ and ‘Onn’ inside Google Trends and noticed an interesting pattern since 2020 – ‘Firestick’ searches are declining while ‘Onn’ searches are increasing.

These FCC filings are great news for anyone waiting on a new streaming device. With current Onn models sold out and Fire TV owners looking for an exit, Walmart couldn’t have picked a better time to refresh its lineup.
Keep your eyes on local stores over the coming weeks, because these products could appear without warning.
