CNN officially launched a new streaming service called ‘All Access’ across the United States. The service costs $6.99 per month and works on any popular streaming device.

What You Get with CNN All Access

The subscription includes several live channels and on-demand content. CNN Stream offers live news programming from CNN U.S. and select CNN International shows. CNN Headlines provides a curated news feed with daily story roundups. CNN International gives global coverage weekdays from 9am-5pm ET.

Additional channels include CNN Originals with documentary content and unfiltered live feeds for breaking news coverage.

One major limitation stands out: this isn’t the full CNN cable channel. The streaming schedule mirrors parts of CNN’s cable lineup but includes gaps filled by international programming.

Annual subscribers pay $69.99 for twelve months. Current cable and satellite customers can access the platform at no extra charge through existing provider logins.

CNN’s Ratings Problem

The timing couldn’t be worse for CNN. Third quarter 2025 numbers show CNN averaged just 538,000 prime time viewers, making it a distant third behind Fox News with 2.4 million viewers. Even more concerning, CNN saw a 42% drop in total viewers compared to the previous quarter.

People are abandoning cable news networks for YouTube, social media, and independent creators. Breaking news often hits social media before cable networks even start coverage. This shift makes launching a paid news streaming service questionable at best.

Final Thoughts from Troy

CNN is trying something it already failed at once. Remember CNN+? That service launched in March 2022 and shut down just one month later. The network lost millions on that disaster.

Now they’re back with basically the same idea but slightly cheaper. The problem remains the same: cord-cutters don’t want another monthly bill from a streaming service. People are already paying for Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, YouTube TV, Peacock TV, and others.

The $6.99 price point might look reasonable, but it adds up fast when you’re already juggling multiple subscriptions. CNN’s betting people will pay for news, but free options exist everywhere online.

History suggests CNN All Access might follow CNN+ to the graveyard of failed streaming experiments.
