The BuzzTV Classic AI Android TV Box is marketed as the heavy-hitting successor in their 6th Generation lineup. Its standout feature is the inclusion of ultra-fast DDR5 RAM alongside the Amlogic S905X5 processor.

Like their G-Series Set Top Box, it heavily promotes AI-SR 2 (Artificial Intelligence Super Resolution) hardware upscaling, which runs inline within the video processing pipeline to upscale 720p and 1080p feeds to near-4K in real-time without taxing system memory. It also heavily advertises the proprietary BuzzTV 6 App platform for multi-server IPTV management, and includes the BT-350 voice remote which features a built-in air mouse.

It runs on Android 14, but unlike the G-Series, this is a pure AOSP (Android Open Source Project) build. It is not a certified Android TV or Google TV device. The operating system functions more like a heavily modified Android tablet designed to output to a television screen, heavily utilizing the custom BuzzTV interface to navigate.
Some refer to this type of setup as hybrid due to the fact that you get more of an Android TV feel which is good in my opinion. The big benefit is that you have access to the Android TV Google Play Store that offers apps that are optimized for the TV, not phones and tablets. I personally despise the app stores that only serve up applications designed for phones and tablets.
This is a huge remote control. It integrates nicely with the BuzzTV 6 IPTV application. It’s extremely snappy and works well with the BuzzTV Classic AI. No lag whatsoever.

Personally, I would like to see a smaller remote but this is personal preference. Some will love it and others won’t.
The remote also comes with buttons that can be customized to open favorite apps, etc.

Because it relies on an uncertified AOSP build, the Classic AI is not Netflix Certified. It lacks the necessary Widevine L1 DRM certifications required by premium streaming platforms. If you install Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, or Hulu, you will be forced to use the mobile or tablet versions of those applications. This means navigation will require the air mouse function on the remote, and video playback will be capped at Standard Definition (480p/720p) rather than 4K HDR. This device is strictly tailored for independent IPTV, Stremio, Kodi, and customized streaming solutions rather than premium VOD services.
Yes, and it is arguably the biggest strength of the device. Because it is an open AOSP box free from Google’s strict TV certification rules, side-loading is completely unrestricted. You can download virtually any Android APK via a web browser or a Downloader app, click install, and it will run.
We also won’t see any problems in the future if and when Google decides to crack down on side-loading APKs since this box runs AOSP.
Yes, third-party launchers work excellently on this device. I tested Projectivy and it works like it should. The lack of Google TV certification means you do not have to fight against the OS to change your home screen. You can natively install and set alternative launchers like Wolf Launcher or Projectivy as your default home environment without needing to use ADB network commands. However, doing so means you bypass the heavily integrated BuzzTV 6 platform, which is a major selling point of the box.
If you’re not going to use the integrated BuzzTV launcher and IPTV application, I wouldn’t recommend purchasing this device.

The new AI upscaling feature automatically enhances 720p and 1080p content to near-4K resolution right out of the box, with no configuration required. However, I’d prefer it if BuzzTV offered granular control over these AI settings, similar to what you find on Ugoos devices. While you can access the Amlogic AI settings through the Projectivy launcher, the effectiveness is questionable. I didn’t notice any visual difference when testing the demo mode with AI set to ‘high’ in Projectivy, which leads me to suspect BuzzTV has disabled manual adjustments since the upscaling is forced automatically in the background.
The picture is extremely crisp & clear, and there’s no doubt that the AI upscaling in the background is a huge asset.

The following download/upload tests were done with the BuzzTV Classic AI Android TV Box being connected to my ASUS RT-AX86U WiFi 6 Router. I’m using Surfshark for the VPN tests. I’m measuring speeds with the Analiti application.

It handles 4K @ 60fps natively with support for AV1, HEVC (H.265), VP9, and H.264. It supports standard HDR10, HDR10+ & HLG.
Basic surround sound pass-through (Dolby Digital, DTS) works over the Optical and HDMI ports.
No Premium DRM Formats: Because it lacks Google/Netflix certification, it does not hold official licensing for Dolby Vision or Dolby Atmos processing. Dolby Vision files will fall back to standard HDR10, and Atmos will fall back to a standard Dolby Digital core.
Global Lossless Audio: Similar to the G-Series, true system-wide lossless audio passthrough (TrueHD / DTS-HD MA) is virtually non-existent in the AOSP OS layer. You will need to rely on software decoding via Kodi to push these heavy audio formats to an AVR.

Pros:
Cons:
There’s a lot of excitement surrounding the most powerful Android TV Box, the BuzzTV PowerStation 6, but most won’t pay that hefty price. I would consider The BuzzTV Classic AI a great alternative to the P6 as you’re getting the same launcher and IPTV app at a lower price. Plus, the specs in the Classic AI are still very good which should help future-proof it for a very long time to come.
The main reason for deducting points in my review is due to not having proper licensing for popular video/audio formats. Yes, I know that this is an AOSP streaming box and most don’t come with those formats, but Ugoos does with their AM9 Pro at approximately the same price as this. If you don’t care about the audio/video formats then this should be a great streaming device for you.
It’s extremely important for possible customers to understand that this is not a certified box which means it doesn’t work well with premium streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc. This is primarily meant for IPTV, Kodi, Stremio, and APKs.
