Brazil police carried out a major operation this week that resulted in three arrests and the shutdown of popular IPTV services. ‘Operation Endpoint’ targeted individuals behind DezPila, Tyflex, and Onlyflix services.
The Special Task Force to Combat Organized Crime executed 19 search warrants across multiple Brazilian states. Five arrest warrants were issued, though two suspects remain at large.
Authorities seized approximately $2.25 million in assets and cryptocurrency during the operation.
Police began investigating after receiving complaints about the IPTV operators. Authorities claim the services not only violated copyright laws but also engaged in money laundering as part of an organized group.
The platforms marketed themselves as legitimate subscription TV providers. DezPila, Tyflex, Onlyflix, and others offered live television channels, movies, and TV shows to customers. However, many subscribers likely knew the services lacked proper licensing from content owners.
Investigators obtained special authorization to access banking, tax, and digital records during the probe. This helped them track the movement of funds through various front companies.
Law enforcement blocked 118 websites and social media profiles connected to the operation. Search engines removed listings for these sites as well. The services reportedly used WhatsApp and Telegram to attract new customers.
Websites were hosted through companies including Wix and Hostinger. Payment processing occurred through various methods, with most transactions using Pix, Brazil’s instant payment platform operated by the Central Bank.
Domain names associated with all three brands are currently non-functional. Some show a “clientHold” status, indicating registry restrictions have been applied.
Photos released by authorities show various items confiscated during raids. These include cooling equipment to prevent servers from overheating and fire suppression systems. Investigators also found cryptocurrency mining machinery at some locations.
The operation’s name reflects its strategy. Rather than only targeting individuals, authorities focused on shutting down servers, domains, and payment channels used by the services.
This marks another chapter in ongoing enforcement actions against unverified IPTV providers. While three major services have been eliminated, history shows new ones often emerge to fill the void.
Some Brazilian resellers are already linking these takedowns to a central server shutdown, suggesting multiple services relied on shared infrastructure.
